Sunday Sermon: Our Best Season is Now, January 24, 2021

Sunday Sermon at Grateful Church (UPCI) in Phoenix

Our Best Season is Now

Why me? is a management crisis. Our best harvest season for spiritual growth is usually in the moments of “why me?” We struggle to do good because evil is always present to detour our efforts. However, we are empowered by the Holy Ghost with anointed preaching of the blood and our testimonies to break yokes and persuade men to Christ. We become more than conquerors through Christ and survive to understand:

  1. That God is sovereign,

  2. The nature of our struggles: the world, our sins, the devil, and the pathways to manage them.

  3. To be bold and undeterred recognizes, that the present stress is not going away, and the intent to sow fear and suppression.

Acts 4:21, 23-34

21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

23 And being let go, they went to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:

25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?

26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things common.

33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Be on your game.

Matth. 13:24-25 …The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

The enemy gains the advantage when we are in doubt and indifferent about God.

  1. If nothing is planted, there will not be a plot to steal, kill, or destroy the harvest. But If we desire to plant, we should be vigilant in prayers.

2 Tim 3:12 - Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

  1. What we cannot destroy, we must manage to ensure a successful harvest.

Success is when opportunity meets talent.

Harvest cannot be delayed. It will be vulnerable to the bird, animals, weather, etc

John 4:35 – Say not ye, there are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

The Holy Ghost met the harvest opportunity with.

  1. Powerful and anointed preaching

  2. Great strength of convictions and persuasions

  3. Bold and shared vision for the work

  4. Outpour of the spirit of giving and support for the work ahead.

Now is our best harvest season. 2 Cor 6:2 - (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
