Sunday Sermon: Intimacy With Your Destiny, April 9, 2020

Sunday Sermon at Grateful Church (UPCI) in Phoenix

The son of my vow: Intimacy with your destiny

Prov 31:1-2

Prov 31:1-4

1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes, strong drink:

Our feet are set on a divine path from the beginning:

So, should memorialize what God is saying to us (Lemuel - One devoted to God or belonging to God) to:

  1. Overcome distance and time decay. Distance makes the calling small and insignificant.

    1. Time decay makes the calling easy to discount or disregard. The time between the fetus in the womb to the throne as a king is long

  2. Give heed to the prophetic voice and develop intimacy with your destiny.

The 3-ways we connect with our destiny as: Dream, Gift, and Service

As a Dream – My Son: Elijah said the rain cloud in the distance was about the size of a man’s hand, but in full manifestation, the cloud was a rainstorm

  1. Pray earnestly 7 times before the rain came.

  2. The rain could have been easily discounted or disregarded because of the size of the cloud, but Elijah was persuaded by the prophetic voice for revival in Israel

As a Gift – The sone of my womb: You have been in the womb of the church for years; Called as kings and priests to reign with Christ. The Son of my womb:

  1. The son of travail in prayer, agony, and pain to birth the child of dreams, desires. Isa 66:8: - As soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children

  2. Some children died in the womb, other in the birth canal, and others get born into a world of new opportunities

  3. Sarah received strength to birth her dream son - Isaac

  4. What dreams are your carrying in your spiritual womb? What is the son of your own vow?

As a Service to God to find purpose – the son of my vow. Don’t drink away your life to forget your pain and challenges, nor your strength to that which destroys souls and profanes the crown by confusing the head

  1. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit and a contrite heart.

  2. We have a divine connectedness, providence, and care with God’s plan in history

  3. Samuel was the son of Hannah’s vow. Samuel kept the vow, served Israel as judge, and instrumental in establishing the thrown of David where Christ will seat and reign in history with the saint
