ABOUT US

OUR VISION

The outlined vision is a mental picture to give meaning, purpose, and direction to where Grateful church is headed  – Ezra 10:4 and Phil 4:15 before you join the church - Prov. 11:27. The specificity of the vision is to: (a) attract attention, cooperation, and commitment; (b) make sure Grateful Church is a fit for you, and (c), an appeal to your eagerness to join the church. Grateful Church envisions:

  • To reignite the faith of urban inner-city millennials and Gen X (MGX) singles, young married couples, and first-time parents in God, strengthening the family units to lead the unchurched to Christ

  • To help MGX discover their dreams and utilize their inherent gifts to humanize the gospel for greater ministry impact by demonstrating the love and power of God to transform lives in Phoenix, Arizona

  • To engage by inclusion, the depth, shades, flow of MGX’s sentiments and gifts in a multicultural mix of authentic worship and storytelling for a sense of belonging.

Vision
OUR PURPOSE

The primary purpose of Grateful church is to transform lives, build faith, and the capacity of millennials and Gen X to fulfill their life mission, satisfying their needs for significance, fulfillment, rich and meaningful live

Strategic Vision to support the church purpose

The church envisions an in-reach and outreach model of a chat forum, an extension of the Christian coffeeshop that attracts millennials and Gen Xers; ages 24-50 years. A marketplace model akin to Paul’s public square debate that is congenial, less confrontational, and more dispassionately interactive in format. A place where people come together for a time of discussions to tell their stories, listen to stories, and experiences of their peers. A collection of millennials, Gen Xers, singles, young married couples, who share the affinity to reach-out and reach-in to help each other grow in their Christian experience with God. The forum will provide the bridge between the church, parachurch ministries, and secular organizations to attract participation. A training hub for gifted people and emerging leaders with an emphasis on leadership development, mentoring, and spiritual development.

Strategic focus to support the church purpose: The church model will focus on:

  1. Decentralize authority, lay-driven leadership, and horizontal power distribution

  2. Mission-driven identity with a specialized ministry scope

  3. Solution-based and relevance bound practices

  4. Inclusive, participatory, and innovative in people roles

  5. Experiencing and transformational services as opposed to informational

  6.  Facilitating growth with technology, through relationships, and community

Using testimonials and storytelling to dramatize the purpose of the church by recognizing: (a) Church numbers who recently led friends to Christ, (b) people whose life challenges were transformed by getting involved in the church, and (c), people whose spiritual growth saved their marriages and families by applying biblical principles.

Purpose
OUR MISSION

The mission of Grateful Church is to disciple emerging leaders by identifying, developing, harnessing, and enlisting their inherent gifts to lead the unchurch population to Christ. Grateful Church will focus on growing people through a process of discipleship rather than church programs to maintain a healthy balance. The church will draw from the rich cultural context of the Phoenix ministry area: the depth, shades, and flow of its multicultural context to avoid people-blindness that may inhibit the growth of the church.

  • The motive of the church’s mission is to evangelize all people,

  • The means of its mission is through multi-cultural ministries

  • The agent of its mission is through ethnic and cultural diversity.

The Church will utilize four strategic pillars “LEAP” to meet these challenges and draw families, friends, and neighbors into life-changing experiences with Christ:

  1. Lead people to Christ

  2. Equip people to serve

  3. Advocate social inclusion

  4. Plant new churches

The effectiveness of the mission of Grateful Church will be assessed by:

  1. How many people were brought to Christ?

  2. How many new members are there?

  3. How many are demonstrating spiritual maturity

  4. What are the signs of maturity we saw?

  5. How many have been equipped and mobilized for ministry?

  6. How many are fulfilling their life mission in the world?

OUR VALUES

To be a solution and a thing of value is the key to success because success and people are attracted to values. The church believes that value is increased through specialization and a reduction to a single unit. Singleness of purpose drives passion, energy, and unlocks the potentials to create solutions to problems affecting the lives of people.

The followings are core values that define the culture, identity, and brand of Grateful Church:

  • Friendship

  • Family

  • Inclusion

  • Innovation

  • Impactful spirit-filled experience

These values will provide the moral compass and the energy that will drive the vision, objectives, leadership, and marketplace positioning of the church for growth.
